Cancun Cannibal

My love of the odd story and strong stomach for graphic imagery led my colleague to share this jewel. I hungrily took in this true tale with mad joy in my eyes. "Tell Me!!!" She did...and now, I share it with you:

This story takes an incredulous turn. And it's not what you think...

So a group of girls in their twenties take a trip to Cancun. The popular, and sad tale of caution, led them to all take a "Natalie Halloway" pact. They vowed to never leave each other on the trip. No matter how hot the guy was, how much fun they were having, or how they drunkenly swore that they were okay.

Okay...it's the second to last night. One of the girls in the group meets "the greatest" guy. Really, really good-looking. So sweet. So charming. So into her. And she was into him...He was smitten with her. Told her how beautiful she was...kissing, hugging, dancing, drinking...He was all over her. And she all over him. Finally, at the end of the beautiful night...

"Please," he said. "Let me take you to dinner tomorrow night. "
"No, I can't - my friends and I don't leave each other," she explained.
"But you're so incredible, so beautiful. I am so into you
and I need to see you again," he pleaded.
"I really can't. I would love to though...why don't we exchange numbers and I'll tell you
where me and my friends are tomorrow night and we'll meet up at the bar?"

They exchanged numbers. They met up the next night. Again, another evening of bliss...All over each other. He hung out with her friends. Taking pictures, kissing, drinking, dancing, laughing...a fun night. A night that stays with you as a sweet memory of youth.

It was the last night.
She never left her friends.
They said their goodbyes and maybe-we'll-see-each-other-agains...

She gets up the next morning and notices a rash on her face, neck, and chest. It's disconcerting to her. However, they had to get on the plane to get home. They get on the plane. Fall asleep. Arrive back to reality after a wonderful vacation.

The girl's mother sees her and is immediately concerned about the rash. She was worried that she caught a bug, drank the water, ate something bad, had an allergic reaction...every fear of what it could be, especially since her daughter was out of the country. She understandably freaks out and insists on bringing her daughter to the hospital.

They go to the hospital. They run tests and give her some topical treatment for the rash. They tell her that it is going to take a while for the lab tests to come back and there is no sense in keeping her there. Tell her they have medically treated her best they can and will contact her once the lab results come in.

Twenty-four hours later the hospital calls the girl's house. They tell them to go to the hospital immediately. The mother, frantic, demands to know what is happening. They tell her that they will not discuss it over the phone and they should get to the hospital at once.

They race to get to the hospital. Worried, crazed, and in panic mode.
They bring the girl into a glass, quaratined room.
In the glass room are men in suits, the FBI and doctors with long white coats.
They ask her what seems to be a million questions about where she's been, carefully documenting everything she says.
They ask her if she met anyone while she was on her trip. "Yes," she tells them. "I didn't sleep with anyone though, I swear!" she exclaims looking at her mother.
They ask the girl for the guy's contact information after she told them that, yes, they did exchange phone numbers.

Within a short period of time, phone calls were made. Mexican officials knocked on the door of the guy's home in Cancun and searched his living quarters. What was discovered confirmed what the lab results conveyed...this great guy was apparently a cannibal.

It turns out that the rash was an allergic reaction to the bacteria of decomposing human flesh (!).
It was on her face, neck and chest - all the places the guy kissed her.

He didn't want to take her for dinner...he wanted her as the entree.
